The Albums

Rubbernecking

Click title to play track (mp3 version), wav is better quality (larger file)

(CD) Released 27th October 1997 while the band where on tour with Morrissey, to rave reviews:

"...rough-edged burlesques... sassy, slithery and ROCK'N'BLEEDIN'ROLL." - NME
"...a pocket-sized dynamo of a singer, swaggering moments of low drama." - Evening Standard
"...Elcka invent heroically monumental music..." - The Guardian (click here to see this review)

Strapping newcomers Elcka fulfill the rampant promise of their early singles with 'Rubbernecking', a tumescent debut filled end to end with fierce tunes, sex, last orders romanticism and casual greatness. Deep, dark and thoroughly dirty, 'Rubbernecking' is a classic debut in the vein of Roxy Music's 'For Your Pleasure' and establishes Elcka as a keen-eyed gang of ambitious pop tacticians.
